What ages do you serve? Zion Lutheran’s VBS is open to children ages 3-10. Children younger than three may attend if accompanied by an adult.
What’s included in VBS? Worship, Bible Stories, Music classes, Crafts, Games, and Snacks.
How are classes determined? Children will be assigned to same-age groups. Class size will be taken into consideration when assignments are made. Children will be separated into preschool and elementary school groups with age-appropriate activities that may vary.
My child has special needs. Is s/he able to attend? While we do our best to accommodate all children with any types of medical concerns, we are staffed with volunteers. Therefore, if your child has special needs, please note this on your registration form. If your child requires a parent or guardian to stay to ensure the best experience possible, accommodations will be made. Someone from registration will contact you to discuss how we can best serve your child and include him/her in the fun of VBS.
Is there a closing ceremony for me to attend? On Friday, July 19, we will have a closing service at 11:30 am. All parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends are welcome to attend. The service will be streamed live on our Facebook and YouTube pages for those who cannot attend in person. This will be followed by a pizza party and a live Birds of Prey educational program given by the Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab and Education Center. Friends and family are invited to attend.
The VBS choir will also sing for our 9:30a worship service on Sunday, July 21, and you are welcome to attend our Church Picnic after the service.
When should I register? Please register as soon as possible so that we know how many students to prepare for.
